“I started writing about last year (2017), when I decided to make an album. I worked on this album quite fast. I started in May, finished in August. I was speeding because there was a deadline at that time. It was Jazz Traffic Festival in Surabaya, where I launched the album there. I worked on it for a total of three months. Starting from the composition, recording, and the contents of all the additional.”, Sheila told.
Even though Sheila is known as a bass player, not all songs on the Midnight Superstar album are instrumental. There is a song entitled Pengantar Lelap (sung by Evelyne Hutagalung) which she wrote to be dedicated to her son named Hans. “I wrote the song for my son. There are two versions. The Lullaby For Hans is instrumental, the with lyrics are Pengantar Lelap. It’s like a lullaby song for children,” she concluded.
